Steps
1
In a large frying pan, cook mini beef patties for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, or until cooked through.
2
Meanwhile, to make the alien eyes, slice down the length of a black olive, being careful not to cut all the way through – the aim here is you want to create an opening or be able to ‘butterfly’ it open. Carefully place a green cocktail onion inside, then skewer together with a toothpick (see the video for what it should look like). Repeat so you have 16 eyeball skewers in total (you’ll need two for each mini burger).
3
To construct the mini burger, slice a burger bun in half and lightly toast. Squeeze a generous amount of tomato ketchup onto both halves, then top the bottom half with some butter lettuce. Add a cooked burger patty on top.
4
To make the cheese teeth, take a slice of cheese and, using a sharp knife, cut in half diagonally. On the longest edge, cut a zig-zag pattern to create a ‘teeth’ effect. Add to the mini burger, along with a slice of pickle as the tongue.
5
Finish off the mini burger by topping with the other half of the bun. Insert two eyeball skewers into the top of the burger. Repeat decoration process with remaining ingredients, then serve.
