Terms of Service

Welcome to Foryoueats. By accessing or using our website, mobile apps, or browser extension (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

1. Who We Are

Foryoueats is operated by 9489-8558 Quebec Inc. (doing business as Foryoueats), a Canadian corporation based in Montreal, Québec, Canada. The terms "we", "us", and "our" refer to 9489-8558 Quebec Inc. The terms "you" and "your" refer to the user or viewer of our Services.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

We may also change, add to, or remove features of the Services at any time without notice.

3. Your Account

To access certain features of the Services, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep that information up to date.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security.

You may not use another person's account without their express permission. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time in accordance with Section 13 of these Terms.

4. User Content

4.1 Original Recipes

When you create and publish an original recipe on Foryoueats, you retain full ownership of that content. By submitting it to our Services, you grant 9489-8558 Quebec Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Services. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account.

You represent and warrant that any original recipe you post is your own work and that you have all rights necessary to publish it on our platform.

4.2 Community Sharing

You may choose to keep your recipes private or share them with the Foryoueats community. If you share a recipe publicly, other users will be able to view it on the platform. You may change the visibility of your recipes at any time from your account settings.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

4.3 Feedback and Suggestions

If you submit feedback, ideas, or suggestions to us, you acknowledge that we may use such submissions freely and without obligation to you. We are under no obligation to treat any submission as confidential or to compensate you for it.

5. Imported Recipes

5.1 Nature of Imported Content

Foryoueats allows you to import recipes from third-party websites. When you import a recipe, you are saving a copy of that content for your own reference — you are not the original creator of that recipe, and Foryoueats does not claim otherwise.

If your profile is set to public, your imported recipes will be visible to other users alongside your other recipes. The original source is always attributed and linked on every imported recipe page, and clicking that attribution will take any viewer to the original content on the source site.

5.2 Attribution and Labelling

All imported recipes — whether or not you have made any modifications — are always labelled as "Imported & edited by @username" on the recipe page. The original source attribution always appears above this label and cannot be removed. This labelling is applied consistently to all imported recipes on the platform.

You do not acquire ownership of any imported content. The intellectual property of the original creator remains with them. You acknowledge that your saved copy may be a derivative of the original work and agree not to represent any imported recipe as your own original creation.

5.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of any imported content complies with applicable copyright law and the terms of the original source website. Foryoueats is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or continued accessibility of any imported content, nor for any copyright claims arising from content you have imported.

6. Content Standards

All content you post on Foryoueats, whether original, imported, or edited, must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to post content that:

  • Infringes any intellectual property right of any person or entity
  • Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Promotes illegal activity or encourages conduct that would give rise to civil or criminal liability
  • Contains unsolicited advertising, spam, or any form of solicitation
  • Impersonates any person or entity, or falsely represents your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Contains viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
  • Violates the privacy of any third party

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards and to suspend or terminate the account of any user who repeatedly violates them.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Foryoueats that is not user-generated — including but not limited to the design, layout, graphics, logos, icons, text, and software — is owned by or licensed to 9489-8558 Quebec Inc. and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, or otherwise exploit any part of the Services or its content for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

8. Restricted Conduct

You agree not to do any of the following in connection with the Services:

  • Use any automated tool, script, bot, spider, scraper, or similar mechanism to access, copy, or monitor any part of the Services or its content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services, its servers, or any systems or networks connected to it
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or any related network or system
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services or the experience of other users
  • Transmit any viruses, worms, malware, or other harmful or destructive code
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Services
  • Impersonate any person or entity, including any representative of Foryoueats
  • Collect or harvest personal information about other users without their consent
  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Assist or encourage any third party to engage in any of the above activities

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over the content or practices of those third parties and are not responsible for them. Your use of any third-party site is subject to that site's own terms of use and privacy policy.

Foryoueats also integrates with third-party services as part of its operation (such as social sign-in providers and analytics tools). Your use of those integrations may be subject to additional terms imposed by those third parties.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, 9489-8558 QUEBEC INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT ON THE SERVICES, INCLUDING USER-GENERATED OR IMPORTED CONTENT.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION DISPLAYED ON THE SERVICES IS CALCULATED AUTOMATICALLY AND IS PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. IT SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON AS DIETARY, MEDICAL, OR NUTRITIONAL ADVICE. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL FOR SPECIFIC DIETARY GUIDANCE.

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, 9489-8558 QUEBEC INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (1) THE TOTAL FEES, IF ANY, PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (2) CAD $100.00.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless 9489-8558 Quebec Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Any content you post, import, or edit on the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third party's rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights

We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with us in asserting any available defences.

13. Termination

These Terms are effective until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate your agreement to these Terms at any time by deleting your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms or any other applicable policy
  • A request by law enforcement or a government authority
  • Your own request to delete your account
  • Discontinuation or material modification of the Services
  • Unexpected technical or legal issues

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law — will continue to apply.

14. Minors

By using the Services, you confirm that you have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority, you may not use the Services, create an account, or submit any personal data without the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian of a minor who is using the Services, you accept these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their activity on the platform.

15. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montreal, Quebec.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
