Notes

1. Marsala is like sweet port and sherry. It is very cheap to buy and lasts for ages and is a great way to add depth of flavour to sauces with just a small dash of marsala. If you don't have marsala you can substitute with port or dry sherry. You can also substitute with white wine but you will need to add 2 tsp of sugar or honey to sweeten it.2. Break off broccoli florets so they are small because they need to cook through in just a couple of minutes.3. This freezes very well. Allow to cool then place in an airtight container and freeze. Thaw before reheating on stove or microwave. You can also freeze it with the puff pastry on top and bake it like a traditional pie.
