Steps

1
Preheat oven to 400 F.
2
Add meat into a pan. Brown the meat and remove from pan. Remove majority of the fat and leave 2 tbsp in the pan.
3
Add finely chopped onions and garlic into the fat and lightly brown. Add the finely shopped carrots and return the meat back into the pan.
4
At this point you can reduce the heat on the stove and add worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, beef bouillon, tomato paste, dry thyme and cayenne pepper.
5
By now the oven is ready and you can add the ready made pie crust base in the oven. Cook for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
6
Add flour to the meat mixture. Cook for a few minutes and add water to form a gravy. You should be constanly scraping the bottom of the pan and adding water to deglaze.
7
Add the butter and get the gravy to your desired texture. It should be pretty runny as it will firm up during baking. Add the green peas and remove from heat. Add extra salt if needed to taste.
8
Place the meat mixture in the base pie crust. Place the top crust. Poke some holes for airflow. Brush on an egg wash and bake until the crust is a dark golden brown.
9
Let the pie cool to an internal temp of 160 F before cutting.
