Raw Salsa

2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes (fire-roasted if possible)
• 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 medium onion, roughly chopped
• 2 jalapeños or serrano peppers, chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
• 1 cup fresh cilantro (loosely packed, or more to taste)
• Juice of 2 limes (or about ¼ cup)
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
• Optional: ½ teaspoon sugar (to balance acidity)
