Spaghetti Topping

Italian Focaccia Bread Crust

Steps

1
Preheat oven to 425° Fahrenheit.
2
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add noodles and cook to package instructions.
3
Combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, onion, and green pepper in a large saucepan. Cook and stir until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain grease.
4
Add the garlic and cook for one minute, or until fragrant.
5
Stir the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste into the pan. Season with oregano, basil, and sugar. Simmer the spaghetti sauce for 20 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
6
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook add water, flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix on medium speed until dough forms a ball.
7
Add the olive oil to a 13-inch skillet. Plop the dough into the oiled skillet and spread to a 1/2-inch thickness, making sure there are no holes. Season with, garlic salt, and remaining Italian seasoning.
8
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and return to oven. Bake until just golden, or about 5 minutes.
9
Remove the Focaccia Crust from the oven and top with cooked noodles and spaghetti sauce. Slice and serve.
