Steps

1
Step 1: Prepare the Cake Base
Bake the chocolate cake according to the box instructions or prepare a simple sponge cake. Allow it to cool completely.
Slice the cake into thin, flat layers. If using store-bought sponge, cut to fit your serving dish.
2
Step 2: Make the Caramel Cream
In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a custard-like consistency.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and caramel sauce. Let it cool slightly.
3
Step 3: Prepare the Chocolate Ganache
Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to simmer (do not boil).
Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth and glossy. Allow it to cool slightly.
4
Step 4: Assemble the Layers
In a glass dish, place a layer of chocolate cake at the bottom. Lightly drizzle with milk to keep it moist (optional).
Spread a generous layer of caramel cream over the cake.
Add another layer of cake, followed by more caramel cream. Repeat until you reach the top of the dish.
Pour the chocolate ganache over the final layer and spread evenly.
5
Step 5: Decorate
Using a piping bag, decorate the top with whipped cream or melted white chocolate in a pattern of your choice.
6
Step 6: Chill
Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
7
Serving
Slice the dessert into squares or scoop it out with a spoon. Serve chilled and enjoy the rich combination of chocolate and caramel in every bite!
