Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans with butter.

Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).

Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
